Front on. I added shoulderpads and a Maxmini head to the Sentinel driver body.
Left side. I plan on painting the fuel tanks and the exhaust rusty as can be. See my old flamer pics for reference (last pic after the link.)
And an early Christmas present, the Fortress of Redemption. This thing is massive!
That's my Blood Pact Sentinel down there. See that missile silo?
And now a piece of trivia for those of you who have read this far. I was looking at the detail on the tower of angels and though it seemed softer than the rest of the model. I speculated that GW tested out their new computer scanning cogitator to make this kit. Then I found this tiny little skull in my bits box. (Look at the center of the picture.) It's from the vampire counts skeletons and it looks awfully familiar.
I bet your right about them using the computer scanning cogitator for this.
ReplyDeleteMy questions to you is: Was the kit worth the high price tag on it? How many pieces is the kit, and is it possible to expand it with plastic card and make it modular?
I've been trying to decide whether its worth buying or not.
sentenel looks even nicer with paint on it!
ReplyDeleteholy hell that thing is gigantic. the sentinal is looking great.
ReplyDeleteSammy: Since it is a present, it is worth every penny! :) I just played a game of planetstrike with it a few days ago and it was the only terrain on the board, the combined with its ease of assembly and great design, I'd say yes. It is worth the high price tag.
ReplyDeleteI forget how many pieces it is, but the tower itself is only 9. Each bunker has a floor and then one piece per side. I've left the bunkers separate from the tower for ease of transport and they look pretty good on their own. Build a door for the blank faces on both, and a widget to fill the gap on one and you have two perfectly usable bunkers without the tower.
As for adding plasticard, it'd have to be a lot of plasticard since this thing is huge!
Wow, looking good. I think a dark grey would be the best base colour for the sentinel, red chaos stars painted on would also look nifty keen I think.
